August 2006. I had just started the 8th grade, and my friends told me about this new website called MySpace. I figured it would be cool to make an account, and add friends. Little did I know that it would dominate our conservations for the next three years. We would add music, create layouts, and talk in chatrooms until we were told to get off the computer and go to bed. I made friends, many of whom I still speak with til' this day.
Yet, as I got older, social networks changed. Facebook. YouTube. Twitter. Yik Yak. Instagram. Vine. You name it. They all fought for our attention. As technology grew so too did social networks. Advertisements. Content creators. Yet, simple is better. Nostalgia has a way of bringing us back right to where we started. Sometimes, its good to start all over again.
