AOTD #2 : Furling

i've been too lazy to continue this already but here you go! new album time 

today's album of the day is Furling by Meg Baird

i'm choosing this album to share today because i'm listening to it for the very first time as i'm writing this post and i am just absolutely blown away at the gentle beauty of its instrumentation!

every song so far has felt so nostalgic despite never having heard any of them before. it's so very cozy and warm; it feels like lazing in the sunshine like a lizard on a rock, or sticking your hands in warm sand. the opening of each track has given me chills just from how texturally gorgeous it is.

meg's voice is also absolutely stunning. she has a very soft, warm warble. the vocal tracks are layered to create harmonies that are barely noticeable but so important in the grand scheme of the music. it reminds me a lot of the cocteau twins' layering.

i am absolutely blown away by this album. very calming.
