While reading tonight-

I’ve strayed from romance in books and movies/shows alike my whole life. It makes me uncomfortable, it’s tacky most of the time, and it’s always the same tropes over and over again.

However, I have stumbled upon an author who has done a rendition of the iconic Romeo and Juliet by Shakespear and I have been pretty blown away.

1920’s Shanghai China, mob families, and a mystery about a creature lurking in the waters. The lovers again an over used trope yet written so well I’m sucked in.

Truly didn’t think I’d be so engulfed in a novel with romance in it.

Call me surprised, although it’s an understatement!
