I wanted to put together a little timeline of me developing feelings for Withnail so I can look back at it in future if I'd like, and also because i feel like it's funny how it went from "yeah he's hot" to spiralling into multiple selfship AUs.

11th Feb - First watched Withnail and I

I seemed to really like him, and screenshotted him high.

[few days with little to no Withnail mention, was fixated on Jack Horner]

15th Feb - Rambled about W+I, kept calling Withnail hot.

Joked about how if Vyvian is my qpp and kins Withnail then is Withnail my secondhand f/o?

16th Feb - Joked about getting a Withnail fictive

17th Feb - Joked about being high at the park as a Brit (comparing self to Withnail)

"I was going to ask why Withnail is hot and then realised he probably isn't supposed to be appealing at all"

19th Feb - Made a "WLW : Withnail Loving Withnail" joke

21st Feb - Made a first joke about a catgirl self insert

22nd Feb - Made my boyfriend watch W+I

Confirmed I found Withnail hot, called Withnail "sexy in a pathetic way"

Also commented on how many times you get to see Withnail eating and implied I appreciated it

25th Feb - Downloaded a lot of Withnail photos

Started making kink hcs for him

Started talking about wanting to make him worse

Crackships of Withnail x Trexel Geistman and Withnail x Withnail

26th Feb - Vyvian pointed out I was platonically selfshipping with Withnail as I was talking about imagining him with me to cope with feeling pathetic

Created the selfship AU

Originally very dark but got a little softer through the night

27th Feb - Started my selfship playlist

Started wearing my red tartan scarf to work

I QRT Richard E Grant on Twitter on a 10 year old post to say I was selfshipping with Withnail now, not expecting him to be active on Twitter and not entirely expecting him to be alive.

Compiled old messages to piece together this timeline and get my headcanons written in one place

Used Withnail to cope with fear of alcohol
