how do you even create an original melody

like i got ALOT of original melodies but i want it to be a pixies/julie type beat and not a taylor swift or country, cause they always end up like that-

are there any chords that are used in a specific genre of music? if so, tell me about the ones that give off a "tired but free" type feel. ;p
