really connecting w/ a girl in my chem recitation which is nice, because it's so hard to make friends. i was excited bc she's an animal science major and i'm a wildlife major, and i work in a disease ecology lab so she had a lot of questions about what i do and why. i told her as much as i could about our necropsy at my lab yesterday!

a funny story abt yesterday at work: the state dropped off two groups of fish which were supposed to be atlantic salmon and coho salmon. a fellow undergrad, G, received them and was told the wrong labels, and also used the wrong code for the cohos, using CHS (chinook salmon) instead of COS (coho salmon). a grad student, N, euthanized the first batch for diagnostic tests and immediately our postgrad M was like. Wait A Minute. Those R Not Atlantic Salmon. Those Are Not Even Chinook Salmon. so while they sorted everything out i had to just sit and wait, and we had to examine the euthanized fish even though it was the wrong case, and the cohos had diff tests than the atlantics so my job of harvesting heads was completely pointless for the first hour and i mostly just sat there and killed time bc there weren't even tools to wash or autoclave. which was fine by me :D i love to do nothing
