Stupid thought i need to write down (tw, reality check & derealisation?)

Is my mind the real me, or is what others see of me the real me?

My mind is the only thing that can be confirmed to be real, so is everything else just a part of my mind? Is everything I believe real and everyone else's beliefs fake as their thoughts aren't in my head?

But if everything is a part of my mind, then doesn't that mean everything is just a part of my imagination? Everything I see is only being seen through my mind, so does that mean everyone else's perception of me is the real me?

Silly little mischievous mind sonders

The idea that only the mind can be trusted and confirmed has always bothered me. By what criteria do you determine that your own thoughts are more real than your own experiences, that they are more real than your own memories?

Perhaps this is a useless answer but I think that the people who ask which side is the real you have missed the point. The you that you see from inside your own mind, and the you that other people perceive are both parts of you. Just as you aren't aware of your own breathing until you stop to think about it the image of you that exists for those around you is still a part of who you are even if you have to reach out to see the shape of it. And just like your heart continues to beat in your chest whether or not someone else is close enough to hear its rhythm, the ways you perceive your own mind are real even when they do not reach the world beyond.

The world is more than one thing at once, and so are people. Both parts make up you, and if one part were to somehow be totally erased without touching the other you would be greatly diminished or at least altered for the loss of whichever one was taken.
