new/old music - i monster and lupe fiasco

last night i found a song on tiktok and wanted to find the full version, so i looked up the lyrics. it's called "who is she?" by i monster. its pretty good and i highly recommend it, as well as their other stuff!! but that's not the coolest part about my discovery. i went to the artist page so i could listen to more of their music and see if i just found a new artist i liked (which i did!), and i started playing one of their top songs, "daydream in blue". i immediately recognized it from lupe fiasco's "daydreamin'". turns out he sampled i monster's song to make a rap track, which i love and also recommend. 

i just think its super funny/cool that i found that out from a song i heard on tiktok. I've been listening to a song by lupe fiasco from that same album since i was little bc my dad liked it, but didn't listen to the rest of the album until i was older. 

i just think its really fun looking into music and both finding new artists to listen to (even if they've been around a while), and finding little connections like this lol.
