Possibly making a discord server?

So I have been thinking of creating my own discord server for the last few months and I think I am finally gonna do it. I think it will be an interesting way for me to meet new people since I have issues connecting with others. If anyone has any tips on how to make and run a server, those tips would be appreciated.
