Art inspirations

I think talking about art inspirations is always interesting especially with looking at what aspects of an artists style is inspired by what so here's mine ^_^. This is mostly the artists and stuff that actively inspire me there's probably others that have influenced my art without me being aware cause you can't create something out of thin air lol.

Ryuusee!

Ryuusee is an artist who primarily does art for vocaloid MVs some of the well known ones being SNOBBISM, Dappou Rock, Drowning in a wave of sadness, Love ka?, and others! I first saw his art in Drowning in a wave of sadness when i was about 12-14 and fell in love with his style. I especially adore the way he does horror and surrealism he's my favourite artist. I even got a keychain of his art :3.

The chain unfortunately broke during shipping though so i have it displaying on my desk shelf.

OFF by Mortis Ghost
My favourite game of all time and one of my artistic inspirations! I'm pretty obsessed with OFF, i first played it when I was 13 and I think it definitely affected my entirety as a person. I especially like the designs of the creatures/inhabitants of OFF it's a great game and I recommend it if you haven't played it yet.

Rubyquest and Nanquest
Rubyquest and it's spiritual sequel Nanquest are webcomics that came out quite a long time ago now wow. Rubyquest especially inspired me a lot, my stickman style is pretty much a result of reading Rubyquest and I even started a webcomic shortly after reading it. That i then uhhh abandoned and then tried to remake and now havent updated in ... 2 years? uh oh.

Shuuen no Shiori/Amino Yuki
Shuuenpro was a series I dedicated a lot of my formative years hyperfixating on. I created blogs dedicated, I posted about it a bunch, I even called myself C for a while after the character C-ta lol (i never kinned him though dont get it mixed up). So it's no surprise that one of the shuuenpro artists would inspire me and the mangaka happened to be the one, her art style was my favourite of the four main artists and I felt it fit the series the most. Particularly the way she drew eyes influenced the way I draw them lol. Once shuuenpro died down I ended up starting to hyperfixate on my own OCs so i never followed her onto her next work which... kinda glad about seeing what she worked on next. Still though her art at this time was a big influence for me and I still feel it was the best fit for the series.

Nanbaka
I quite like Sho Futamata's art and approach to character design. While nanbaka isn't something I'm quite into anymore (maybe someday i'll pick the manga back up) I'd be lying if I said it didn't influence me and my character designs lol.

John/TOOBOE
Onto some more recent inspirations, john/TOOBOE is one of my favourite musicians and the one who got me back into vocaloid but he's also a really good illustrator. During late 2019 and early 2020 I started struggling with feeling like changing my art style but also not at the same time and during that time I had started to follow john and his art ultimately helped me with deciding to make changes to my style that were for the better and I'm much happier now with my art than I have been in years (though this is of course combined with other factors that have helped me improve my opinion of my own art)

Beanytuesday
Lastly (as far as I can recall at the moment to be honest) is the artist beanytuesday. I don't really remember how I came into contact with his art originally but I really like his art and comics, I know to many they probably don't seem anything special but idk they're quite charming to me and I especially love the way he's able to do facial expressions and it's inspired me to try to push my own art. He's also just a funny writer lmao.

I'll add more if I think of more lol for now I need to eat and these are all I can remember!
