Procrastination

Does anyone else struggle and suffer from procrastination? I have a paper due at midnight. I sat down at two pm to give myself plenty of time to work, and now it is seven pm and no work has been done at all. Alas, this is a weekly occurrence. the only thing I've been able to find that helps is listening to supervillain-type music (either wild classical or the beach boys) and typing like I'm a mad hacker in a movie. When I find that there are enough words on there to make sense, I'll edit the paper and then go take a nap.

What helps you all stop procrastinating?

I procrastinate so much and I have not found a fool proof solution yet but with school work sometimes I'll use one of those browser extensions where you can block sites and I will block the sites that I go to when I procrastinate (social media mostly) and set a timer and when the timer is up I take a break or set another timer

Yes, in fact I am procrastinating literally right now. I have never tried the method of pretending I'm an evil hacker but tbh it sounds really effective. Thank you I will probably try it myself. Personally I also try to listen to music or watch a game stream (not-story driven game or else I'll get too distracted) and turn my phone on silent. Sometimes I think it also helps if you do something different like a physical task (cleaning, doing laundry, etc) and then returning to attempting to get schoolwork or other sitting-down tasks done.
