★ opinions ★

here are some of my opinions on things...
(this can serve as a sort of dni, if you are directly opposed)

queer stuff

the word "queer"; use it if you want to! filter it if you don't! don't disrespect others for using it for themselves if you're uncomfortable with it.

general labels; don't disrespect queer elders who use 'outdated terms.' pansexual may fall under the bisexual umbrella, but the label itself causes no harm! bi/pan solidarity in this house. sometimes sexual and romantic attractions can be different. asexuals and aromantics deserve respect and their own spaces.

neopronouns; go ham! i sometimes use ze/hir for myself. alternative pronouns have been documented at least within the english language for over a century. try to be understanding if someone doesn't understand the concept and can't get the pronunciations right just yet (auxiliary pronouns are important in this instance.) it/its users deserve respect idc

kink at pride; there is a difference between a healthy display of sexuality and literal sexual assault. seeing a bear in leather is certainly not the latter! nudity or near-nudity is not inherently sexual. pride is not meant to be disney levels of Family Friendly, its meant to be Queer Friendly. being openly queer does not equal being unsafe for children. fuck pink-washing!

feminism;
respect biwoc. respect trans women. respect butches, dykes, masculine women, and gender non-conforming women. respect transmasculine people who may still identify with femininity.
women deserve control over their bodies in any circumstance, especially in the instance of surgery or medical events. people with breasts should be able to be topless in the same situations men are allowed to be. neutralizing gender for menstrual products/contraception methods is a net positive.
fuck terfs! fuck white-washing feminism! fuck the pink tax!

tl;dr – one person doesn't have the right to tell someone how or what they feel! i love you queer people

shipping

“if you’re clicking just to hear me tell you whether i’m a ‘proshipper’ or an ‘anti’,  you’ll have to be satisfied with the response that i am a tax paying adult, not a member of a fucking fandom war sports team.” - sarah z

to elaborate; i don't agree with creation of nsfw media portraying underage characters.
i think harm reduction methods (sometimes employed by therapists) and intrusive thoughts/ocd that can cause these things to be made does not mean they should be posted on the World Wide Web, and tagged with fetishes/kinks. as a society we should take steps to stop the fetishistic view of childlike traits and "barely legal" type shit.

rpf; i do not care about rpf, i don't think its very different. as long as you maintain proper boundaries with the people concerned, and ethics, go ahead! its not new.

dead-dove; its always a case of What's On The Tin, if you look directly past warnings as such, don't be surprised upon seeing graphic or upsetting content. tagging things properly is important, as so is paying attention to them. yes, there may be things you don't like personally in there, but its the same for shows and movies. ratings systems have existed for this reason for a long time.

tl;dr – block people and keywords. (curating your space online 101) i'm not pro-censorship, i'm pro-don't-sexualize-children. i can't dedicate my life to it. i've got Trauma, man!
