i'm pretty sure it works the same? it works for me, maybe the image link you're trying to use isn't an actual image link?
no it's an image link, it ends in .png... I think the image host is the problem :(

well alternatively you can download the image and upload it on imgur or something! just grab that and it'll be the same thing

you don't actually need an account to post there but it'll be public by default, though if you make an account you can make it private! and it should still work the same

Yea I'd prefer the images to be private by default, as in link accessible only to hopefully minimize the chance of the art getting stolen
