HII obligatory long post about plants because mine have been on my brain so hard and I need to tell someone about them.
My favorite genus ever is Crassula, but like. all of my crassulas just die immediately. Buut I got a few of them a few months ago and I've been researching them a lot. Most crassulas come from South Africa, but there's about 200 species from around the world (the Jade Plant is the most well known)!!
(yes, both of these are in maruchan ramen cups)
Here's my first boy, Louis! Hes a crassula perforata or string of buttons.
Uhmm I would actively kill for string of buttons. Look me directly in the eyeballs and tell me this isnt the prettiest little plant you'll ever lay your eyes on. This is the one I've had the least luck with, it always shrivels up at the base of the stem and then dies :( Turns out, these guys are a mortal horror with watering, and theres a super fine line between over and under watering. I am in superhell.
The other plant I will be agressively informing you about is homegirl Tuna! I could not for the life of me figure out what kind of plant this is but it turns out she's a crassula rupestris.
I BEEF WITH THIS PLANT SO HARD. I have this huge aversion to change and this is a new species of plant so i feel like. weird about it. but so far so good, she is alive and thriving like 3 months in <3. Apparently this one grows into more of a bush than a vine (like louis will) in the wild. and get this... THEY BLOOM. look at this shit.
This is so cool. I wish i lived in a climate where these guys could thrive :(
send louis and tuna good vibes so they can grow big and strong!! thank u for reading I hope u learned something about these silly little guys.
