My Experience With Winamp!! XDD
Today, I had decided to download the iconic media play Winamp! I had seen many pretty skins for the program that peaked my interest, but today was the nail in the coffin when I discovered Cardcaptor Sakura skins! (´∀｀；)
What is Winamp?
Now, Winamp is pretty well known to those that are interested in the y2k webcore aesthetic, HOWEVER.. for those that don't know X3:
"Winamp (Windows Advanced Multimedia Products) came out on April 21, 1997–back when listening to music on computers was a novel concept, and most people didn't know what 'MP3' meant." ...according to Justin Pot on How-To-Geek.
Sound boring? I Know, but here's what it looks like!!

I spent an uncomfy amount of time trying to configure things... thankfully i ended up figuring it out! It was SO cute !! X]] BUT be careful, some winamp skins that you find online can make the buttons invisible!! I had some mp3 files on my computer for my website (oooh pretty link >;3c) and well..... there's definitely a bit of a learning curve, nothing too hard though.
I have a cardcaptor sakura skin obviously, isn't it prety !?!??!! ontop of that, It saves all the skins you download conveniently!!
What's that? My playlist? Thats...! ...well, not so easy, but i got it done i guess. it does look pretty cool tho ( ✧Д✧)
In short, I'm so glad I got this to work !!!! I didn't expect it to, considering i have a mac–I know (¬_¬)–but thankfully someone has been giving this program love! (and it was only updated to work on newer systems last year (°ロ°) !)
That being said, if anyone would like a tutorial for how to download Winamp on Mac.OS, I'd be happy to help !!!

Ok stop everything - For about 2 years now Winamp has been getting turned into a crypto-centric mess, missing many nice features of it's previous versions.
Get WACUP instead. It's maintained by Winamp's core developer, who actually cares about what the player was supposed to be, and he's doing a very good job, considering internaly it was always a mess. And yes, it supports skins. It ain't perfect but it's better than modern Winamp. If nothing else don't go beyond Winamp 5.666.
As for Winamp for Mac, that has the opposite problem - it was an experiment long ago that didn't work out and has been abandoned since.

AH I HAD NO IDEA !! you mentioned modern winamp but I used classic winamp that i downloaded from the wayback machine, is it still a problem then ??

It's perfectly fine up to and inluding version 5.666 which was up as the main download for about 5 years, so it's very likely that you've got a good one
I do still sincerely recommend WACUP next time you need a player

I think they block exe files assuming it's a chromebook and how strict they are
