As I traveled with Tha Connect Management, I discovered traveling for music is a passion. I knew I wanted to discover new music and travel to different shows, so I planned a few to get inspired for my sophomore album, "Dark Mode".
I got a lot of inspiration at EDC Orlando's first 3 day event in 2021. Unforgettable nights of lights music and the scene filled me with inspiration. I knew that my next project would be an alternative electronic record. I wanted to make something really unique so I took my time and studied the genres of EDM. I found myself to be a bass, dubstep and riddim head, as well as a house lover. With all that in mind, I planned my next festivals. I checked out Okeechobee Music Festival 2022 to see what was new with pop. Ashniko, Meghan Thee Stallion and Tinashe delivered waves that moved the scene. I went to Bonnaroo to study the rock and roll. It was a beautiful 20th anniversary and I accomplished a life long dream of watching Stevie Nicks perform as well as Tool, All Time Low, Machine Gun Kelly and more. I was present for the rap and EDM scenes at Bonnaroo as well. Chris Lorenzo and Rezz threw down. Suicide Boys and 21 Savage shook us with their bass and beats. My favorite night was emo night. I jumped and danced to all the songs and knew all the words and had so much fun! And emo night at Bonnaroo was a huge part of my decision to make Dark Mode an electronic album with inspiration from the emotive hardcore genre. My song "The Plot" is inspired by All Time Low's "Dear Maria Count Me In" and it's an honor to have been in the crowd for their 2022 Bonnaroo performance of that song.
All in all, my travels over the past three years have been pleasant, and I cannot forget to mention Nashville and Los Angeles as a part of those travels. I visited El Matador beach in Malibu, California and ran into some fashionistas out there in August of 2021. I ran into a stylish man on the stairway which leads down to the waves. He said, "I love your look." and I gracefully accepted a compliment knowing I'd run into him again some day. The models were near the waves below, and we had our photoshoots side by side. One a fashion shoot, the other a documentary of the making of an album called "Dark Mode". My fashionista friend Regina helped style and photograph that beloved journal and fashion art piece, and I am forever grateful to have been apart of that shoot.
Secretly I hoped the photographer would recognize a real mermaid, as I sat on a rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean contemplating my next move.
Nashville in June 2021 was the prior move. I visited my friend Fiona and played at Belcourt Taps alongside some extremely talented voices and artists. I had an impromptu solo at The Flamingo which was a dream come true; singing under the magenta light was an honor and inspiring to say the least. I met Alex Kautz that night and I have been following his journey since then. It was an honor to visit one of the music capitals of the world. I gained a lot of my acoustic inspiration for Dark Mode from my journeys in Nashville, as well as my study of the emotive hardcore genre.
Bands like Saosin, Moss Icon, Brand New, All Time Low, Underoath, Of Mice & Men, Further Seems Forever, Sleeping With Sirens, Taking Back Sunday, Sunny Day Real Estate, Dashboard Confessional, Story of the Year, The Story So Far, Vertical Horizon, Relient K, blessthefall, Fight Fair, Escape the Fate, Bullet for my Valentine, Alesana, and more built the core of the emotive inspiration, to name just a few. I cannot forget the voices of Aretha Franklin, Paramore, Flyleaf, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Willow Smith, and Taylor Swift for vocal and writing inspiration.
Other inspirations include the fairycore movement, lo-fi, rap and other genres.
After recording and developing my own sound after my own study, I decided to call my sound 3MO.
It's electronic emotive hardcore music.
Now I'm collaborating with pop punk sensation Stacy Doan, and I can't wait to see what we make together. Young Dreamer and rising rapper C-Quig has been invited to this alt punk collaboration. Let's rock, let's rock tonight.
