Where to start with this game? It's so good! From its art to its dialogue, the game is a masterpiece slowly starting to fade into the dark depths of the internet the newer software gets. From literal animals to fleshy cloud gods hovering over lakes, I'm going to go over why this game has such a massive grip on me, and why I am better at it then you losers (joking, joking!)
1 - The story.
The story is plain and simple. Just "Go to Grandmother's house, and stay on the path." Or is it? Well, that's for you to decide. The game is intentionally open to interpretation, and lets you choose your own well.. PATH! Either follow the long straight path, or go into the dark and gloomy woods, where items spanning from literal fucking heroin needles, and conjoined teddy bear toys await you. The game consists of six girls, ranging ages 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19. All named after shades of red. Robin, Rose, Ginger, Ruby, Carmen, and Scarlet. These six girls are the characters you will play as throughout the game, and the ones who will be talking to you throughout this artistic walking-sim. However, you should be warned, this game has sexual implications. A good example being in the game files where one of the girls' audio files in their ahem.. 'Grandmother's house' is quite literally referred to as 'woodsmans__moan(1-3)' So continue reading at your own risk. Otherwise uhm.. Leave this blog.. Like.. NOW!!! :(
2 - The acts.
Now, this is a shorter section, given it's simple nature. The acts are simply referred to as 'Pick a girl', 'The forest', and 'Grandmother's house'. Pick a girl being your character select screen where you see the girls' sort of personalities just by observing their actions in their apartment (Ex. Ginger dragging a strange chalk-like stone on the floor with a stick with a bored expression, Rose stroking her white rabbit, Scarlet talking away on the phone, Robin playing with her toy car.) The forest is just a dead giveaway you're supposed to go into the woods. But the gist is walk around until you get to Grandmother's house, or you find the place you're supposed to be. Grandmother's house is an on-rails experience, where you can click any key to proceed through different areas of the house as your selected girl. If you find your wolf, in stereotypical red-ridinghood fashion, this house WILL have locked rooms depending on if you've done the following. (See below.)
3 - The basket of memories.
The basket of memories is odd to be sure, being the game is so out of date, it gives you item quests your character can't interact with. (Given she can, however it makes her think of another sister by overlaying said sister on screen.) This basket always has 3 special items for each girl. These special item slots are all at the bottom half of the basket of memories screen. And will give an overlay of a room in Grandmother's house. There are a total of 36 items, the top 18 slots are for items that can be used by more than one girl, and the bottom 18 are slots for special items that unlock new rooms in the wolf house at the end. Given, you can still find yourself interacting with special items for other girls *AS* other girls, but they don't go into your inventory or anything until you play as the girl in question.
4 - The wolves.
Now, we get to the inspiration for this game in the first place, little red ridinghood. You can't have this story without a bzou slash wolf, can you? Of course not! Wandering the woods you will find different odd locations, such as a cemetery, a theater, or even a field of flowers with telephone towers (Oh hey, that rhymed!) These locations are referred to as 'Wolf Locations'. As upon going to them, your girl will immediately slow down, the colors will saturate from the dull forest colorings to that of vibrant reds, greens, or yellows depending on where you are. And which girl you are, someone else will be there. Your wolf to be precise. Now, instead of immediately gobbling you up or whatnot, YOU have to initiate interaction with IT first! (Excluding Ginger's wolf.) These wolves will leave the girl ravaged in front of their poor sickly Grandmother's home, the game is greyscale at this point, the rain being the only sound filling your eardrums after an either sickly sweet, or sour cutscene plays to show each girl falling for their wolves guise. Their crumpled bodies will slowly rise from the path, and hold itself, as if hurt, and one by one, they find themselves closer to grandmother's house to find shelter inside. To be treated to what is essentially their worst nightmares come true. And you, the player, will be greeted with the and I quote from the files 'Murder images' at the end. Take that with a grain of salt though, since they all come back in fine at the end.

LITERALLY ALL OF THEM (BESIDES THE WOODSMAN) THEY'RE ALL SO PRETTY OR COOL.. (May or may not have girl crushes on Rose, Ginger, and Carmen since I got into the fandom back when I was 11. Still crushing on Carmen and Scarlet since it'd be weird on Rose and Ginger's ends!!!)
BUT HONESTLY COOLEST SISTER IS GINGER (AND ROSE I LITERALLY CANNOT DECIDE), BEST WOLF IS GIR HANDS DOWN NOBODY CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE!
