Alright, I'm done with the modern world, hanging on my phone 24/7, twitter, snapchat, instagra, tiktok. I'm quitting modern life.
Well I have a plan to make everything a bit more fun again by going back in time!
Phones
Flip-phones (not those ugly new ones without buttons) are quite cheap to get compared to a new smart phone.
It will also reduce your screen time massivly and only gives you acces to the world wide web when you are on a computer.
I have searched for a good flip-phone for a while and came to the conclusion that for me the best one will be the 'Gigaset GL7' since I'll be able to use whatsapp on it.
If you are like me and still need whatsapp for work/school/university I'd recommend you check out some different Flip-phones, till you find one that you like.
Social Media
And with getting a flip-phone (or any other dumb-phone) you will most likely reduce your social media time by a lot. Esspecially if you leave the house with it.
But since you might still get bored at home I let you know, there is a page, which looks like old youtube
But it's still cool to use Youtube, since you might need it for school.
But maybe create a new account and only watch the stuff you need to watch (again for school) and maybe find some old videos, so the algorithm will only give you the good stuff.
Music
Getting rid of the smartphone will probably make you lose your music source, but don't be sad. 9 letters: Mp3-Player
There are a lot, from those small usb sticks to the ipod.
I personally have one of those 2007 Ipods, so that's a big win for me, but you will find the right one for yourself, even for little money.
And we ain't even gonna spend money on the music itself with a mp3-player, but for legal reasons I'm not going in that direction.
Also I'm sure that by now you can get some CD very cheap in second hand stores or on ebay.
And there are quite cheap CD players on amazon
Computer/Laptop
You could buy some old asf computer if you have the money and want to take the risk, or you just change the icons of the different programs, to match an older aesthetic. I mean we ain't rich.
Games/Movies/Tv
Games
If you are able to play older games on your computer, then why not play sims 2 or other games that where a thing back in the 2000's.
Also Nintendo is always a go to, but honestly I won't blame you if you own a switch and stick with it.
It's not easy to get older consols, so it's totally understandable to stay with what you already got.
Movies/Shows
Netflix was a thing back in like 2007. Yes, they were still sending DvD's to your house, but hey if you got Netflix or any other streaming service, then keep it if you like too. But maybe try to only watch thing that were released before 2010.
For example: Lost, Malcolm in the middle, Scream, ....
With that, if you actually follow my plan, you might get bored fast and binge stuff. Don't do that, make yourself a Tv timetable (idk the correct word in english sorry) and only watch stuff at certain times of the day. If you miss the start of that time, skip that missed time, so this scheduel won't fall out of order. Just like it is with actuall tv shows.
Magazines
Yes, they still exsits, so why not get one with a topic you like.
You like space ? Animals ? Nature ?

There are magazines with just the right topics for you!
Photos
A cheap digicam or film camera will do the trick
What to do to not get bored
Well there are alot of things, depending on who you are those things will vary.
- Read books;
- learn something new;
- meet friends;
- go outside alone and walk around;
- Sports;
- drawing;
- etc
So anyways,
I hope I could give some of you some inspiration and ideas!
It surely will give you more time to do stuff away and then when you enter the internet after a long day of not being there, you might enter spacehey and get that feeling back, that we all used to have in the past.

Love these ideas! I think a lot of us would be happier if we focused less on newer social media
honestly, I haven't used new social media in so long and my daily study time went up from 25 minutes to 4 hours. Also read 5 books since jan 1st.
Yeah I confess I now play alot of sims 3, but it's exam phase so gotta get rid of the stress some way.

INACTIVE
I have a DSI I use sometimes. It has a bunch of features on it. It has a camera, web browser (albeit an outdated one), digital notebook, recorder, and an SD card! It's really fun to use especially if you have a bunch of games like I do.

hours of checking every flip phone I could find on amazon and see if I'd like it or not.

very in support of the anti new technologies movement! i also recommend getting a portable cd player(like a walkman), you can find really good ones that dont skip! (and i have the same silver ds thats in that picture, mines covered in stickers though lol)
