this is one of my favs (my friend read this and my other bird related poems and said 'average crow enthusiast (I love crows))

"fly, songbird, fly

the cage does not know what it has lost

seek the sky

and soar through lightning storms

enjoy being unchained

but know this now

your captors never meant to free you"
