Kerbal Space Program 2 Early Access in 4 days!

....And I am really not excited for it anymore lol!

I don't know how many of you guys actually know about/give a shit about KSP, but as a resident space and airplane nerd it's one of my favorite games. So when KSP 2 was announced in 2019 I instantly wishlisted it and religiously watched all of the teasers. It looked so great. But now release day is around the corner after a few delays, and its so obvious that the developers were rushed by corporate shitlords to put out an unfinished product instead of what we were promised.

Not only are the new features coming in later updates with unspecified dates, but many of the current features from the first game haven't even made it over. There's no career or science modes, many parts are missing, many features are missing. There's not even a first person view! And there are bugs 'o plenty.

The graphics have obviously been neutered, I suspect its because they were having optimization issues. Everything looks kind of flat, cartoony in an offputting way, not very detailed. But even still, the recommended card is an RTX 3080, and the asking price is 50 dollars, for a game that can be beaten out by its predecessor with mods.

And, as a personal detractor, the whole game has a somewhat corporatized and safe overall presentation. I suspect to get more people into it. Which is good! But I feel like they could have done a better job of making it approachable without it being infantile.

Anyways, I'm definitely not getting it when it comes out. But I hope that it at least lives up to be what it should have been, in time. The developers clearly want to make it great, they clearly have a vision, but were bullied by Take Two into releasing an inferior product :(
