hi! just a simple little ramble today!!
with the rise in popularity of breakcore as of recent on apps like tiktok, it's only natural to start seeing the phrase get watered down. (hell, i even saw someone just say 'breakcore' was a fake word to describe 'weird' music..?)
just to remind everypony, the absolute bare-bones definition i can give is: breakcore is a type of hardcore edm thats characterized by its complex breakbeat patterns. ofc lots of edm tend to incorporate thrashy drum samples, however breakcore has very intricate drum formula that really can only be recognized by listening to said pattern, or lack thereof. breakcore is not just some trend word that describes all edm as a whole!! edm itself is an extremely large and colorful space and breakcore is only one of the hundreds of subgenres. reminder just to not throw around the word cuz it sounds fun or smth... its a real genre after all!
