White sage and Palo Santo are very useful tools for cleansing. White sage cleanses your space of all energies. Palo Santo cleanses of just the lower vibrational energies aka negative energy.
When using smudge sticks of white sage you are wiping the energetic slate clean and starting over which is good for projects, meditation, moving into a new home… things like that.
Palo Santo is great for cleansing after having guests in your home that may have left some of their emotions with you or on your home, in a car while traveling, and on yourself if you’re feeling like someone may have cast the evil eye on you. These are just a few suggestions.
And while using either, be sure your intentions are clear.
Ex: “Out with the old and in with the new.” Or, “I release that which does not lift me and welcome in joy and prosperity in all areas of my life.” - as examples.

Thats 2 very different things. White sage is an amplifier for spirits.it can b used to cleanse but it won't work if u don't go back in with something to ward away negative. Palo Santo actually wards of the negative and keeps it out. Also not to gate keep but best if ur not apart of the native community not to use white sage as it's sacred to us we use it in ceremony.
