Yes I have not written in a little bit but I have a good excuse: I've been SWAMPED with students (always a good problem to have) as well as other music news, so let's dive in...

I did a last-minute fill-in gig with my friend's band Evolution last Saturday. No it's not a Journey tribute band but they do covers ranging from Def Leppard to Alanis Morrissette. It was cool, very laid-back (I like more high-energy but sometimes it's good to chill). I was also asked to fill in on March 17 for another cover band called Tammy & The Others. This is on top of my filling in with Supernova on March 4, yes another cover band.

I really don't want to be Mr. Fix It with cover bands but I'll take the work.

But back to my original music...

Today we got my friend TC Tolliver in the studio (finally!) to lay down his drums for one of my songs on the upcoming album. After a few takes, we nailed something down that we are all proud of. Granted, the rest of the album won't be recorded until May but we wanted to get TC early because his schedule is always crammed. When you're a killer drummer, that happens. He used to be in the Plasmatics, so there you go!

As for my trio, we worked on another tune last Wednesday. And we have one more to go, so that will be eight songs total, minus the solo acoustic tune I want to include. All total, nine songs for the ninth album...wasn't planned that way but if it looks like clever marketing, I will run with it :)
