Journal Entry #7: 02/12/23

Welp, I didn't post for a week...

It's alright though, no problem, obviously. Honestly, the first few months of the year can be kind of boring.

I did my interview yesterday, and we talked about our generation (Gen Z) is different from previous generations and the effect that technology has had on us. I really enjoyed the conversation we had but I wish I had gotten to speak more! It felt like there was so much more on my mind.

A couple days ago my anatomy teacher went on a rant about tattoos. Thankfully, she wasn't anti-tattoo and just gave us some advice. I've been thinking about a tattoo, I was thinking maybe the digit 23 would fit me well. The biggest issue I would have with the tattoo would probably be covering it up. I'd want to get it on my shoulder, but it would be nice to show it off every so often with a shoulderless top. Obviously, I need to be sure if I'm gonna do something like this.

In other news, I've revived my Portuguese learning streak with Duolingo (13 days!). It's been nice to get back into it, even if they ended up messing with the learning path. Considering my progress, I've been thinking about what it would be like to move to Portugal. It claims to be one of the best countries for US ex-pats. It's warm, sunny, and full of beaches! For now, it's just a thought though, I don't have any money to get there!

Lastly, I've also been getting back into Cave Story, an (early 2000s?) platformer. It's really fun, but I think because of my controls (and lack of skill) it's super hard for me! I was stuck on a boss fight for a couple of hours! It's a great game though, and I'm glad I'm able to play it since it had kinda been my dream for a couple of years.

A few things are happening this week, mainly Valentine's Day. I take no issue with it despite the fact that I'm single; I really wish that there was more of an emphasis on other types of love besides romantic. Also next week we're supposed to have a four-day weekend! However, there's something that could put a dent in those plans. Severe weather is forecasted on Thursday and if schools close, that will take away one of our break days. Let's hope either school has early dismissal that day or severe storms don't happen at all (I prefer the latter)! 

Anyway, time to get some rest.
