valen kawasaki — one of my enstars OCs . he's one of my beloved characters ,
so i'm dedicating a whole blog just for him ! valen is always being worked on ,
so some information might have plot holes or simply ,, there's nothing . but
you're free to ask about him , i will gladly talk to you about him ^__^

slight warning for suicide in the 2nd paragraph

from a young age, valen mostly spent his time with his father. his mother was too busy travelling in france to take care of him, thus he never learned french properly (despite being half french). valen's family revolves around fashion. his mother is a famous fashion designer in france & his dad is a retired clothing designer. naturally, valen got interested in dressing up and fashion & now has it as his main hobby.

growing up, valen met michi in elementary school. valen would describe michi as his ‘older sibling’ and both deeply cared for each other. michi was really fascinated by idols and promised valen they will make a unit together when they grow up. enrolling into Yumenosaki, both created a unit going by eternal sleep, a metal unit. however, during the war, the unit was running low on funds & valen lost the interest to maintain the band, often being lazy to go do practice, it was hard to keep up. unbeknownst to valen, michi was struggling with several issues in their family and at school. sadly, due to the overwhelming pressure from the war, they ended up killing themselves. this affected valen pretty badly. it felt like losing a part of him. even if valen didn't experienced any first-hand malicious intents, he still harbors a grudge against eichi for the war. he believes that eichi was the reason for michi's cause of death and that reason evokes him fear and hostility on his side.

 valen started skipping school, distancing from everyone. and soon, eternal sleep was on the verge of breaking up from inactivity. all evidence of ES ever existing was destroyed by valen. he spent all of his days inside his room, producing music under a different alias as a form of coping mechanism. only after a long period of time, one of eternal sleep's fans, ryota, convinces valen to start over and gets him back on his feet. the two form the now current unit, AD★RE.

personality

upon first meeting, valen seems like someone mysterious and aggressive, but he has a calm and loving heart. although, he never passes an opportunity to tease somebody (often giving people nicknames) and is quite the trickster. despite so, valen would get paranoid and panic, if he does something wrong towards anybody, and quickly apologizes after any prank, afraid he hurts the person in question.

valen is somewhat of an unclear person, frequently going off topic mid conversations or blabbering too much. he is naïve and definitely falls for the most stupidest things.

he is the type of person who would do anything for the people close to him. as much as teasing he is, valen is soft-hearted to his friends. he’s not the best with expressing his love, but he shows it with his actions. if somebody got hurt, he’s the first in line to help them out.

he is really passionate about his interests and hobbies & puts a lot of effort into them. valen’s idol career is important to him, as he wants to put smiles on people’s faces. regarding his hamster obsession, he would frequently criticize others if seen mistreating them. yes, he canonically doxxes people for animal abuse.

 he has a weird habit of making odd sounds when nervous or embarrassed
 compares his snakebites to 'little fangs'
 loves nice smells and fragrances and would often follow people by accident if they give off a pleasing scent
 very interested in astronomy. he mentions how he would like to ‘stargaze with a special person some day’
 he owns a secret social media account where he posts outfits. this is the same account that he uses when he's beefing online . aka . . doxxing . .
 valen is able to play both drums n guitar from his past units experiences
 he tends to 'speak' some of his words in capital letters or speak completely lowercase when upset. this is difficult to explain, but imagine something similar to natsume's speech. valens dialogue in japanese would probably be putting words in katakana
