Chocolate Bar Milkshakes!

I always loved milkshakes but in the 90s, the only milkshakes I had were: chocolate, strawberry, banana. Because those were the only ones I came across being sold in cafes and ice-cream parlours.

This changed one day in the 00s. I was with my cousins in Newcastle & we popped into a milkshake café. They had all sorts of fruits.

Not just fruit though.

They also had milkshakes made out of chocolate bars! And chocolate biscuits!

So in the same year I discovered Oreo biscuits (cookies since they're American?) I discovered Oreo milkshakes. 2 years after I discovered Kinder Bueno, I discovered Kinder Bueno Milkshakes.

I love the mix of biscuity and chocolatey flavour that an Oreo milkshake has. Whenever I come across one now, I’ll choose it over a regular chocolate milkshake.

The notion of a milkshake café was new to me as well. Although I don’t think it’s a 00s invention: seems very similar to the 1950s notion of a ‘milk-bar’. Before that, the closest I had come to was an ice-cream parlour that specialised in ice-creams with milkshakes being the main drinks.
