The Breakfast Club is srsly such a good movie. I recommend it if you haven't watched it. The movie does a great job as a breakdown of stereotypes and it also feels somewhat realistic (The Group Therapy scene where Andrew says "Are we gonna be just like our parents?" hit me so bad tf) The acting- OHMYGOD. I do warn that it mentions some topics like abuse, suicide (attempt), sex and drugs. Also Bender sexually harasses Claire a lot so it was interesting to see how the 80s showed that.
The characters are complex, the plot is simple yet compelling, the score is amazing.. I could go on and on like a fangirl just reviewing this movie. Every scene (other than the S. Harassment scene) has the tone it needs like The Group Therapy scene is emotional, the scene before that when they're doing drugs feels like free spirited and well, like a drug trip lol, the ending is impactful and feels like a satisfying ending, the scene where Bender makes fun of Brian's home life is intense and shows us a lot of insight into his character, the scene where Andrew saw Allison after the makeover is really cute (even if the makeover was completely unnecessary but it was the 80s, goths were weird.
This wasn't a complete review of my feelings for this movie but I give it a 10/10.
