I logged into SpaceHey. My eyes skimmed over the home tab, checking for new friend requests, none. My eyes diverted to the new people section. She instantly got my attention. lily.jpeg, the profile picture was a girl, long black hair, a neutral expression on her sculpted beautiful face. The background was a pink bedroom, probably hers. I stopped examining her profile pic, however, when she suddenly moved, her face moving slightly and looking at me. I stilled for a second, looking at the picture, she was back in her original position. Blinking, my chest feeling heavy. That didn't happen, I thought to myself. I focused on the tiny square, staring hard at her face daring it to move. I felt relief as the seconds went by and nothing happened. Suddenly, she moved again. I choked on my breath as I watched her look at me. Watching me as I watched her. It's just a gif, I told myself, trying to rationalize what I was seeing. Although I had the feeling that I would greatly regret it, I click on her profile picture, taking me to her profile. Her profile page was cute, a pink background with girly decorations on the page. Her picture was on the right of the page, the same picture cropped into a heart. I stared. Her face had no expression, her dead eyes staring into my soul. I looked at her, fearing the moment I saw movement. We watched each other for a moment, almost daring the other to move. I watched her for a few minutes, frozen in fear. Eventually, the fear faded as nothing happened. I went to click off her profile, taking one last look at her picture before clicking off. The last thing I saw was her face set into an angry frown, her once beautiful face now terrifying.
