Violin practice under the stars

Finally once again it's not too cold or actively misting/raining/foggy/etc that I can practice my violin under the stars, and a wonderfully clear night it was tonight.  Mostly full moon with Orion (those 3 dots just right of the center are Orion's Belt) looking down on me as I play for my recently departed pups.

Sad part of the post: I miss them so much.  I look for them everywhere.  When I come in the house first, my first thought is to go let them out of their kennel to go to the bathroom.  When I go to the fridge, I try to glance to see if they have enough water.  I can still feel Charlie's fluffy fur and Lala's scruffiness.  There's no conclusion to this paragraph, no smooth segue, I just wish I had them again.

Happier, or at least more confident part is that I've almost fully learned "Lightly Row" from the Suzuki violin Book 1, and I'm working on "Song of the Wind" as well as the fiddle jig, "Sandra's" which with it's quarter-and-two-eights rhythm is being a bit of a pain to get the feel of.  I can hum the rhythm, getting my arm to play it is a bit trickier, but I'll get there.  My wife wants me to play Jason Derulo's "Trumpets" and I'm like, "you sing.  You do realize that trumpets play in Bb and violins play in G or D Maj, right?  Imma have to transcribe that whole thing." Smh. The things we do for love.

We had an amazing night last night at an early Valentine's date, though, going to our local Symphony after a date at the fanciest Italian place in the area.  A fancy night, I even put a tie on! Lol.  I don't think I'll ever play on the stage of that theater but if I can make it to the church stage, I'll feel accomplished.
