valentines day <3

i used to pretend to hate valentines day because a) i was a silly quirky teen who thought liking cheesy things was cringe and b) there was a joke among my secondary school friends and i that based on the way my birthday is i was most likely conceived on valentines day 2002 and bc i was also depressed and nihilistic i would get so annoyed about it. like how dare my parents un-consensually create me on the harlots day >:(

lmao...but now i LOVE valentines day and while being in a very happy relationship is def part of that it's not the only reason. i just love the idea of the whole thing, like yeah yeah yeah corporate holiday or whatever capitalism bad but it doesn't have to be like that. yes you should love and treat your partner(s) lovingly every day but valentines is like a day to highlight it ! yk? its like a day for love !!!!! like how is that not the most fun thing ever!? how can u hate it?? i don't get it!!!!!! like everything is pink and red and frilly and theres hearts and flowers everywhere !!!!!! its so sweet and so easy to enoy even if you're not celebrating! like flowers and chocolates are on offer! treat URSELVES bbgs!!!! ITS FUN!!!!!

idk i just can't get enough of it and i hate that its supposed to be this cute little love-centred holiday (and tbh it doesn't even have to be romantic love!) and people get all gloomy and boring about it like WE KNOW !!!!! its not all perfect and some people just expect a bit too much and some just care a bit too little......but some of us like to enjoy things yk....like its so cute and sweet and you can do anything u want for it and u obvi don't have to celebrate but some people act like they're better than you for doing so???

like i just love love and i love being in love and i love loving and i love the aesthetic of it all and i love all the petty bouquets and the cute cards and i love heart shaped things and i love that they're everywhere and I love those cheesy be my valentine meme cards. and i also really love the yearly exclusive strawberry and cream white chocolate lindor truffles !!!!!!!!
