The belief that there is an inherent meaning or purpose to life beyond our biological directive to grow, mate, raise young, and die is both unfounded and just slightly selfish. To say we and we alone are destined or designed for anything is to literally say the universe revolves around us. We're just more matter and energy that, through a series of coincidences, took the shape of squishy little machines that really like to take in more matter and make more little squishy machines. We don't have a given purpose, the universe is too big for something like that.
