Ok, so, I desperately need to write about this.
I was walking around this last what, saturday I think? Late night, walked way too far, got into the no-no zone. Dirt roads and broken lampposts, small unfinished houses and stray dogs everywhere; barebones street light system, an Uber almost ran over me in the dark and I barely escaped on an onrush, fearing for my life.
Yeah, I know pretty well I shouldn't be braving this part of town so late in the night, — it was almost sunrise, — but what can I do? I just had to, I guess. Anyways, I passed by a very dark alley and, from the shadows, a baby horse came up to me.
At first I didn't think much about it, despite the absurd of the situation, and just tried to keep a few steps of distance. The more I kept away, though, the more it got closer, so I stopped, and it stopped, and then came the realization of what was really happening there. I was curious, it was curious, we were connecting somewhat. It was maybe a dozen seconds we spent standing there, looking into each others eyes, completely still like statues, until it came to mind that I would have to tell this story to someone, and then prove I wasn't tweaking.
Our connection was broken when I pulled out the camcorder, and stepped away to get a good angle. It still tried to connect to me, but how could it ever work again if I just had a camera to my face? Guess that's what was going through its head as well, cause it just got sad and ran back into the shadows when I started snapping pictures.
PROOF I WASN'T TWEAKING:
