Puss In Boots/DND

Okay, So: Puss in Boots: the last Wish was surprisingly good. Like-- REALLY good okay? I may or may not have teared up a bit at a specific scene involving a specific dog.

But what I was most interested in during the film was the magical map that everyone was fighting over. Whoever was holding the map could terraform the landscape based on their mind/heart. SUCH a neat concept- and an excellent narrative tool for showing us the core of each character and what they value.

Now, This is NOT a movie-review blog (though I might make one of those because Avatar 2 was ATROCIOUS and I need the world to know).

No, this is a personal blog. I was interested in the map because I am about to begin a Dungeons and Dragons game with my friends-- Wherein I will be the DM.

Is Being the Dungeon Master Worth it?

NONE of us have played DND before so I am doing just SO much research right now.

I'm going to create my own story/vibe LOOSELY based on the gameplay tactics of DND 5e. So, I will probably be posting questions about it that I'm hoping someone on here might have some answers to/input on.

I am going to do a collaborative map-making at the very beginning, where we roll dice to determine how many rivers, how many towns, the margins etc. My friend has a giant white board so we'll use that I think. But the puss in boots concept will work well because we will all collaborate to name the places etc. It should be really fun!

This is also not a DND blog so I might be sharing other experiences such as: My TESOL course I am taking right now and the process for that, as well as analysis of any new anime I might watch, or just random rants about things.
