The day i lost my immortal hamster

Today is February 1st, 2023. Last night my hamster didn't seem all to himself. Usually when  i come into the room, i annoy him for a second to check if he's alive, give him his favorite nuts and just have a little moment together. He didn't seem up for it last night, so i got my boyfriend to check on him cause you see...

My hamster HATES people and i generally believe that all that hatred towards people made him live as long as he did. He was 5/6 years old, living a bloody long and good life I say. 

Anyways, my partner checked on him and he didn't seem to good. He appeared to have a tumor on his neck area. We put him back down, called the 24/7 vets and they just said he ain't got long left, stay with him during the night and to go in the morning. All done, he passed during the night surrounded by love.

But before he left, he gave me the best gift that I knew was perfectly him. He despite being limp, he bit my partner hard and that my friends, I knew he lived a good life. Despite it all, to the very end my boy stayed true to himself. Even in death, he says fuck you to people. 

He also after a year or so having him had one of the best escapes I've ever seen from a hamster. I have cried every time i thought i'd lose him but every time i knew  he'd come back or something until now of course but he was an old boy. Anyways, his great escape consisted of leaping off a at least 5'' foot ledge, somehow finding his way through the house all the way up to the attic where for at least a month and a bit in WINTER time, decided to make home. Everyone told me to get over him, that he'd die up there but i persisted he wouldn't and low and behold. We caught him after multiple traps and him almost escaping the time we did successfully get him as he broke the humane trap... HE IS TRULY A MIGHTY BEAST OF IMMORTAL STATUS.

Anyways, we got him back and i cried with joy. So much so, i got him an even BIGGER cage and lot more treats of course. Past on 3/4 more years since the incident he had a good life. 

Thank you, for blessing me with the best hamster and i will forever miss you. My little immortal boy who hated people all the way through the end <3 

(Before anyone states, we tried to handle him as much when we got him. Even the house mates tried when we had them, the hamster simply hated people and that is fine)
