As I relax, sitting back in my rocking chair reading and listening to the fire in the fireplace crackle, with my feet resting on the coffee table, with ashes from cigars resting on the table and the ashtray. I take my last sip of wine from a wine glass. I had a feeling that this power outage was gonna last for a few more days and the town will finally have lights, but for now, my house is being illuminated with candles and the fireplace. It’s kind of nice…just sitting in my house on a cold winter night in france…I set my book down on the coffee table and light a cigar. I know it’s not good for me, but I just can’t help it sometimes, it helps relieve stress. Especially if you work everyday at the post office doing nothing besides sorting mail for 12 hours straight like me. It’s a really tedious job…I don’t even know why I still work there, maybe it’s because I get paid rather well and it’s the only job I can get for now. I take my wine glass and get up to go fill it up. I step on the cold kitchen floor and grab the wine bottle and fill my glass over the counter. The moon’s light was illuminating out the window as the snow fell softly from the night sky. I couldn’t help but watch the snow as I drank the wine from my glass. It was so pretty. I couldn’t stop watching it fall lightly and pile up for snow onto the city streets. Just watching the snowflakes makes me remember how precious and beautiful nature and life can truly be…
