Have you ever taken a moment to think about the way we all have a label from the moment we are born? Wether this be because of gender, race, parentage, or where you are born it all suddenly determines your future and your quality of life. It has the largest impact anything will have on your life. This means that you have to work extremely hard to shake that label and redefine who you are and how your life will be.

Mother, student, supervisor, brother, et. al.
We all wear a lot of labels. Some given to us by circumstance, some adopted willingly.
Each one conveys something about you; something about how other people conceptualize you.
Even your name. You name is a label. Whether it's the name given to you at birth, or one you chose later, it creates a labeled concept of you that may be closer than a lot of other labels, but entirely you either.
The words (in English, anyway) that closest to your own concept of your complete self are personal pronouns like "I", "Me", "Myself". When you use them, you refer to only the entity that is you and no other.
Instinct check on that:
You've walked into a room, and another person in the room has heard you enter but has not yet realized who it is that has entered. They ask "Who's there?"
The instinctual answer most of us give is not our name, but to say "It's me" with the full confidence that we are conveying to the inquirer all that they need to realize the full essence of our presence.
But, the labels aren't a bad thing. They convey an aspect of you that may be critically important at any time.
If I've broken my leg, I want someone who wears the label "Doctor", rather than calling out for the "unique essence of who you are that is transcendent of labels"
The important bit is that a doctor, lawyer, sister, friend, are ALL wonderful unique people beyond their temporary, incomplete labels.
The trick is to wear your labels. Choose the ones you want and wear them proudly! But like a warm cloak, take them off when they are worn, do 't fit right, or the 'weather' has changed.
You wear yojr labels.

You wear your labels. Don't let them wear you.
