Any Band Kids Out There?

Hey so to any band Kids out there, who knows how Drum Major auditions work? I want to be Band Captain(kinds like assistant Drum Major) and I just want to know what are a few things I should know.

Yes, I know every school is different but I'm going into Mt senior year next year and our tryouts/auditions/camp is the first week of May. Our director will train us to become the best and I want to be prepared for things. What are some conducting tips? What are some vocal tips for commands? What kind of attitude should I have? Give me a little something so I'll be prepared. Thanks a bunch to whomever reads this!
