I've always wanted to be a Dad.
Growing up with a single mom who struggled,
led me to have simple life goals.
A desire to be working class,
A want for stability in a relationship.
A desire,
To be Dad.
I never changed partners frequently as a teen,
Because I saw the hurt caused by others.
I tried to find the best in everyone.
Even when their motives were unclear.
Then I found her.
She is attentive, caring, educated and self driven.
Attractive in every way.
She drives me to achieve,
And never to be complacent.
I Love Her.
She Loves Me.
After six years of bridging gaps,
building each others connection, and trust.
Two became One.
Every path we walked together had obstacles.
The peaks and valleys of life tested us.
Now is the ultimate test.
Time to achieve my lifelong aspiration.
One that's easy to begin,
But takes a lifetime to accomplish.
To be Dad.

This was beautiful. I've in the beginning-middle stage of building those connections in my relationship, now engagement. Even being gay and knowing since... at least late middle school but being in denial for years, I've always wanted to be a parent; surrogate, foster care/adoption maybe. Possibly a bit of all three. I'm very much hoping I can get to the point you're at.
