you need a phone to activate this phone

i was given a tracphone recently it's a flip phone that runs on kaiOS (which actually looks interesting considering if the person who got me the phone used a little bit more brain power they wouldn't have gotten me the phone and instead would have helped me get my old phone service running running again since it's cheaper and no matter what it's going to cause need for a new sim card again anyway cuz after 1 month of not paying the phone bill it's done and after 3 the number is disconnected no matter if it's a tracphone or a phone on a plan) i'll still be able to activate this phone but a requirement to activate this phone is access to another phone that already has an active number you will be sent a text message on that phone to confirm it i'm sure you don't need me to point out the absurdity of this but it's the whole you need scissors to get your scissors thing except worse cuz you don't know about it when you buy the pone imagine you just moved and realized you need a new phone so you go out get yourself this phone then try to activate it only to realize you threw money away on a paper weight cuz you have no way of activating it thats kinda the problem with kaiOS requiring another phone to activate it
