Old poem I found

A fragile shell of flesh and bone

I don't want to live my life alone

I put on a brave face

Inside I'm adrift in space

Lost and hurt

Why do you treat me like dirt?

My heart longs for you

What am I supposed to do?

I won't beg you to love me

Then please let me be

Don't offer me hope

My broken heart can't cope

Why are you just like me? 

Is this why we can never be?
