There was a pause as she looked up from her computer, realizing the exchange that had just transpired. Maybe it was the long hours of researching countless sources for her paper or the lack of sleep and double shot Starbucks cans, but something was fishy.

“Do I even want to know why you’re telling me this at,” she squinted at the time on her laptop, “3:47am?”

He shifted, looking a little uncomfortable, giving his head a little shake. A long, irritated sigh left her as she pushed her chair back, turning to him, lifting a brow. There was a story, she was sure.

The tension in the air could be cut with a knife and put on toast if he looked any more embarrassed. Then he sighed, running a hand through his forest green hair. “Alright, alright,” he sighed, reaching for his phone. “It has to do with the reanimation final.”

Her brows went up, surprise on her face. That was coming up already? “So soon? I thought that was weeks off still, Carnage.”

“It is, but Professor Frankenstine is letting some of us practice, and uh...” He stopped, looking away, rubbing his cheek, a tint of darker green on his pea colored skin. Druid Necromancers were such odd ducks. “My corpse... Apparently he didn’t get preserved properly so, when I got him up and walking,” he groaned, covering his face, a small hysterical laugh left him, “his dick fell off.”

“His... DICK FELL OFF?” She recoiled with laughter, doubled over as the mental image painted itself before her eyes; Carnage in the middle of his practicing, and all of sudden there was a plop off flesh on the floor and the druid freaking out, trying to put it back.

“Ariiiii, it’s not that funny!” he squeaked in defense, looking insulted, a slight rosey hue to the burning green on his cheeks now. Aw, she was making him mad.

Gasping for air, she waved her hand, managing to reel in her laughter to little giggles, standing from the chair as she crossed the small space their shared space, pulling him into a hug.

Ari felt him trying to resist, but it was to late. Carnage melted into the hug, glad that she was there to comfort him. “It’s not as bad as Kayla’s corpses tits just sliding right off during the exam,” she snickered, running her fingers through his hair, smiling as he relaxed. “But ductape is a new one on me.”

“Yeah, Kev said you would say that, considering you’re a prodigy and all that.”

Ari snorted, rolling her purple eyes, patting his back. “Hardly, just helps that I’m a witch with a necro-mortician background. I know my way around bodies.”

In her arms, the druid giggled, which made her smile.

“How’s about I make some hot chocolate with marshmellow spiders and we watch some bad horror movies, hmm?” she asked, stepping back as he looked up at her, those big almond colored eyes shining.

“Promise?”

“Promise, I could use a break as it is.”

Making sure the document saved, she smiled as he grabbed her hand, leading her out of their room.
