💕SOME OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES; PART 1💕

Good evening out there ^^ in this blog post series I will talk about some of my favorite movies of all time, and why they are on the list.

These entries are not ranked, or in any particular order, but just some films I enjoy and find comfort in. And with that, let's begin with the first entry.

🧛THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE🧛

Where to start with this one... The Lego Batman Movie is a cinematic masterpiece, and one of my favorite movies to watch on a rainy day. The CG animation is beautiful and actually looks like those LEGO stop-motion videos you see on YouTube. I remember when I first saw The Lego Movie as a kid and thought it was stop-motion years, so this style never ceases to amaze me.

 With that said, I think one of TLBM's other greatest elements, is its humor. Something about the simple comedy in it just works for me. Maybe it's my own childlike nature, and of course, because its target audience is aimed mostly at children, but I feel the simplicity can still be nice and comforting to people of an older age group. Taking a very serious character like DC's Bruce Wayne, and making him silly, childish, and sarcastic, can be tricky, and if not done right, end up falling flat. But I feel the way TLBM portrays him stays within that fine line. Making him funny, but still keeping some of the core elements of his character, which makes him relatable and sympathetic. 

Batman's dynamic with the Joker is also fucking unmatched in this movie. I really enjoy the way the team behind the movie played with The Joker's seemingly addicted and obsessive rivalry towards batman, which becomes almost a metaphor for love. I love seeing a few homosexual undertones in any movie, and the fact that it persists throughout this one even though it is targeted at kids makes me really happy. But with that said, it does sometimes give off queerbaiting vibes that I don't like.

So all in all I love this movie. I think I know all the voice lines by heart at this point, and it keeps making me laugh, no matter how many times I've seen it.
