silly selfishness

ykk whenever I do anything and I mean absolutely anything I'm usually always thinking about how other people will feel about or how it will benefit others but I never think about ME. Why can't I think about myself, why can't I be selfish like everyone else? It's not a good trait to have but when i'm always nice people take it for granted. When i'm nice it always backfires on me? but why? I want to be selfish like everyone else is but I can't bring myself to be like that yk.

also all I ever do is try and make OTHERS happy so yk.
