I was going to post this around Christmas time, but I've been putting it off until now. I've been thinking about un-Christ like most so-called "Christians" in the United States are nowadays and if Jesus came back to Earth today, he'd probably be crucified by the same people who claim to follow his teachings, not by the Romans like he was in 33AD. For example, Jesus constantly said to feed the poor and welcome the immigrant, both of which are anathema to the current American Christian right. They don't like the idea of helping people that are less fortunate than them. Hell, they're probably big on Social Darwinism and letting the poor and weak struggle and ultimately die because they are simply unworthy of life, especially if they're different from them. Speaking of the latter part, let's not forget that Jesus was a Middle-Eastern Jew.
Jesus also never said anything about abortion, which to the Bible Thumpers is no better than supporting it. Jesus also said to "love thy enemy" and "those who draw the sword will die by the sword", yet many of these people love war, especially when it came to the illegal invasion of Iraq back in 2003. There's also the whole separation of church and state thing. In Matthew 20:22, Jesus said “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's", whereas the Bible Thumpers believe that their religion IS the state and their views trump everyone else's, which also violates the First Amendment of our own Constitution.
So in other words, the people who call themselves Christian are not only hypocrites, they're basically are Anti-Christ Christians since they don't follow what Jesus taught and would probably crucify him for basically not pushing WHAT they think it means to be Christian.

Yes! You couldn't have said it better. We live in a nation dominated by Christian ideas and values. They affect nearly every part of our lives, and politics and legislation are no exception. Christianity is so corrupt its not even about the belief anymore just the blind following.
