WE NEED TO GO BACK TO THE YEAR 2012

i think that my problem recently is that i've been having so many thoughts but there's nothing I can really put into a concrete paragraph or even more than like, maybe one sentence at most.  Does anyone else ever think about the 2008-2012 era of UTAU voicebanks?

of course the first few vipperloids are most remembered today- i.e kasane teto being the first thing i'm sure anyone thinks when they hear "UTAU"- but also namine ritsu, yokune ruko, sukone tei, etc. but even then a lot of the vipperloids have been somewhat forgotten (and honestly its a good thing that a lot of the vipperloids after like, 2012 have been mostly forgotten because now that i'm looking at a list of them its like christ what were they thinking with some of these). i mean has anyone thought about rook in the past, like, 5 years? hate aino? we've lost them.

outside of vipperloids there's something charming about older utau voicebanks. Not many of them are like, incredibly good, but we should also consider that this is utau we are talking about, and it's not that easy to make something that actually sounds good..

UTAU voicebanks in general are charming to me in a strange way... I think there's something more special about them compared to vocaloid voicebanks. i've always enjoyed that people can and will just make their own characters and give them voicebanks and sometimes play around with them like dolls and make them friends and stuff.

one of my favourites as a young teen was coto fuuga - her voicebank is pretty old, being released november 3rd 2008 (She turns 15 this year! i was SIX when she was released!!! that's absolutely crazy to me). she's part of the unit "cotori", with the voicebank tori shouka, but tori has been discontinued since, like, 2012, so she's kind of on her own now :( not that anyone really uses coto anymore anyways, but still...i don't know. I actually made this blog post in the first place because i got sad about the fact that tori's voicebank is pretty much gone now. even though i was never particularly passionate about her voicebank on its own, i get sad when utau voicebanks get discontinued or the websites/downloads go down, etc... even though i do understand it.

I have more old UTAUs i really like, but i don't want to make this post too long...

UTAU is not dead by ANY means, and i love so much that people are still making new utau voicebanks, as well as original + cover songs with them all the time. I just miss some of the older voicebanks and characters, i guess.. the late 2000s-early 2010s vocaloid scene is one of my favourite things ever, and my love of these shitty early utaus falls into that category of thing, i guess.
