Some thoughts on a Devin Nash video about livestreaming

One argument against Twitch which devin nash discusses is that they take 50% and demand exclusivity for affiliates, which is honestly some bullshit. but it sucks people in, i mean when i made affiliate and was able to accept bits and subs i was chuffed. because they're good at doing the experience of it, they have a culture there. but if you have a niche channel multistreaming and such makes sense. Which is why I stopped doing Twitch and only do VODs lately.
But i do think yt and vods are where it's at most of the time, or a mixture. streaming is fun and good but people have to be online at the same time and such usually for it to work best. it's a complicated and time consuming thing, and honestly what works differs from one person/channel to the next, some things depend on what type of streamer you are, or why you're doing what you do, or what gear you have, or how much time you can devote to it, which is a large reason why a lot of people either fail or stop doing it. understanding what's going on is tremendously helpful in a number of ways though
tl;dr: New media is complicated, I'm still in the process of trying to figure it out.
