Working with Skulls + Bones

Bones house powerful energy. Making sure to cleanse them is important, as dying usually doesn't leave good vibes. Clearing unwanted energies is good for everything but here id enforce it.

Think of them as living energy, as you would plants or crystals. Different bones will have different properties, depending on part of the animal or the species lore. A bear has a massively different mythology and energy then maybe a deer. A Deer's teeth would bring luck and prosperity, while bears rib bones could bring vitality and protection to your home. When holding bones for spells try and think into what the animal represents and how the body part was used by the animal.

As always I'll tell you to be respectful of spirits. Working with bones is working with a hallowed shell of a spirit and can represent them. Specifically if you're using their skull as you're quite literally using their face in your home as a magic tool. When making spaces for these skulls offer things solely for them, grass clippings, laying flowers before it, or lighting incense dedicated to it. It doesn't need to be super fancy but its a nice gesture to make sure everything's cool. They can represent more then just base things. It encompasses in itself all the lives before its own and is the symbol of its life after nearly returning to earth. That's what makes them so powerful but also what should make them respectable.

I got this gesture from the book Folk witchcraft so I thought id share.

When preforming, you will paint with your index figure to curse, or thumb to bless. You will chant a verse wishing your target what you want to bring them.. which you'll have to make up sorry LOL! Not dusting off my own for you but the book did give you a charm to inspire your own chant. I wouldn't use it to the dot, creativity keeps the spell harder to combat, so try and get colorful!

The Chant:

"Well may thee thrive, and well may the stead.

Blessed waters refresh thee and cup of life mayest thee drink thereof,

thy blood protected from shore to shore"

"Mote it be, I pray it"
