Gyaru history♡

Gyaru is a subculture in Japan that began in the 1970s. The term for gyaru was introduced in Japan by the American jeans company Lee, Who introduced a line of jeans to their brand Wrangler. When the women's jeans line 'GALS' was released in the 1970s; the term was quickly used outside its original branding and was adopted to describe the gyaru fashion we have now!

Gyaru fashion is characterized by dyed hair, heavily decorated nails, and flashy clothes. Cheetah print, big fur coats, and heavy makeup are what you will see when you look at the gyaru fashion.

Gyaru are often seen as being superficial and materialistic, but of course, not all gyarus are like that.

The different types of Gyaru♡

Gyaru is a subculture in Japan that began in the 1970s. It is characterized by dyed hair, heavily decorated nails, and flashy clothes. There are many different types of gyaru, each with its own unique style. To become a gyaru, one must select a style, dye their hair, get a tan, wear lots of fake eyelashes and colored contact lenses, and buy gyaru fashion and learn how to style it.

The different types of gyaru include hime gyaru, ganguro, kogal, b-gyaru, yamanba/manba, himbo, and Gyaru-kei. Hime gyaru is the most popular type of gyaru and is characterized by princess-like hairstyles and outfits! Ganguro is another popular type of gyaru and is portrayed by dark skin and bleached hair. Kogal is a less common type of gyaru and is recognized by short skirts and loose socks. B-gyaru is the least common type of gyaru and is characterized by bright colors and loud makeup.

Hime gyaru has its origins in the Shibuya district of Tokyo in the 1980s. The style became popular among young women who wanted to imitate the look of famous celebrities and models. Ganguro also originated in Shibuya in the 1990s as a reaction to the popularity of hime gyaru. Kogal originated in Osaka in the late 1990s as an extension of the ganguro style. B-gyaru originated in Okinawa in the early 2000s as a more extreme version of kogal.

Yamanba/manba is a variation of ganguro that originated in Hokkaido in the early 2000s. Himbo is a variation of kogal that originated in Nagoya in the mid-2000s. Gyaru-Kei is a catch-all term that refers to any type of gyaru style.

Gyaru are constantly evolving, with new types always emerging. The most recent type of gyaru to emerge is decora Kei, which combines aspects of hime gyaru, kogal, manba, and decora fashion. Decora Kei can be distinguished from other types of gyaru by its use of brightly colored hair accessories and clothing items such as bows and ribbons. so watch out! new kinds that you might be interested in pop up everywhere!

How to become a Gyaru!♡

There are many different types of gyaru, each with its own unique style. To become a gyaru, one must select a style, dye their hair, get a tan, wear lots of fake eyelashes and colored contact lenses, and buy gyaru fashion and learn how to style it.

The most popular type of gyaru is hime gyaru. Hime gyaru is characterized by princess-like hairstyles and outfits. To achieve the hime gyaru look, you must first select a hairstyle. Common hime gyaru hairstyles include long straight hair with side bangs or curled hair with side bangs. Next, the hair must be dyed blonde or brown. Extensions are also commonly worn by hime gyaru girls. Once the hair is done, it's time to move on to makeup!!!

Hime gyaru makeup is usually very natural looking. The goal is to look like you're not wearing any makeup at all. To achieve this look, use a foundation that matches your skin tone exactly, and use a very light hand when applying it. Concealer should only be used under the eyes, and it should be applied in a triangle shape. The powder is not necessary, but if you do use it, make sure to use a very light hand so that your face doesn't look cakey.

The next step is to get a tan. Hime gyaru girls are known for their beautiful skin tones achieved through Tanning salons called "Black Boxes" which give them UV rays year-round; however, this method is extremely unhealthy and I do not recommend it. A safer way to get a tan is through self-tanner or bronzer; however, achieving the perfect shade of brown can take some trial and error. Start with a small amount and gradually build up to your desired shade!

Once you have your base makeup complete, it's time to add some color! For cheeks, use a pink or peach blush and apply it on the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards towards your temples. lastly, use lip gloss or any lip smacker to make your lips look shiny!

Gyaru fashion♡

Gyaru fashion is heavily influenced by Western fashion. Hime gyaru is characterized by princess-like hairstyles and outfits. To achieve the hime gyaru look, one must first select a hairstyle, then dye their hair blonde or brown. Hime gyaru makeup is usually very natural looking, with a focus on achieving a 'no makeup' look. To get a tan, hime gyaru girls use self-tanner or bronzer; however, achieving the perfect shade of brown can take some trial and error. Once you have your base makeup complete, it's time to add some color with blush and colored contact lenses.

The key features of hime gyaru fashion are frilly dresses, lace, bows, and headbands. Headbands are often decorated with pearls or crystals. Hime gyaru girls also often wear fake eyelashes and colored contact lenses. They may also wear platform shoes or high heels to give them extra height.

To achieve the hime gyaru look, you need to start with the right hair and makeup. For hair, you will need to choose a style that suits your face shape and then again, dye it blonde or brown. Hime gyaru makeup is usually very natural looking, so don't go overboard with the foundation or concealer! Use bronzer or self-tanner to give yourself a natural-looking tan. Once you have your base makeup complete, it's time to add some color with blush and colored contact lenses!!!

Himbo Gyaru is another popular type of Gyaru characterized by their love for all things pink! Himbo Gyaru fashion includes lots of ruffles, frills, lace & bows - giving them a girly & cutesy appearance. Himbo Gyarus also often decorate their nails with rhinestones & glitter polish as well as wearing false eyelashes & colored contact lenses

Gyaru makeup♡

ill be talking about gyaru makeup and how to achieve the perfect look! We'll go over some of the key products used in gyaru makeup, as well as some of the techniques that are commonly used to create a natural-looking and cutesy look!!

Gyaru makeup is all about achieving a natural-looking, dewy complexion, or just experimenting with different makeup!! To achieve this look, foundation is applied only where needed and use concealer sparingly. A light dusting of powder is then applied to set the makeup and give the skin a matte finish.

Bronzer or self-tanner is then used to give the skin a healthy glow. Blush is applied to the cheeks to add a pop of color. And finally, colored contact lenses are worn to give the eyes a dramatic look. The key products used in gyaru makeup are a foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer/self-tanner, blush, and colored contact lenses.
