HOT TAKE

OK so i’m not hating on new guitar players in any way, this is just my opinion on something i’ve noticed recently. If you’re new at guitar, and you start playing really hard songs (master of puppets, bohemian rapsody, ect…) and not learning chords, or basic strumming patterns, your setting yourself up for a harder time learning guitar. Please start with easy songs and basic chords (examples include: 7 nation army, smoke on the water, heart shaped box) these will make your life much easier if you learn them now, then otherwise waiting until you need a chord and you don’t know it. i’m not saying don’t reach for the stars so you can see what your getting yourself into. I’ve seen so many videos of people attempting crazy songs and it’s “day 4 of playing guitar” so if you’re starting guitar, i’d recommend not starting with master of puppets. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
