My favorite show

Anyone want a show to binge? Here’s a good one: Freaks and Geeks!

First, I’ll give you some information about the show. It’s created by Judd Apatow and Paul Freig and it ran on NBC from fall 1999 to spring 2000, then on FOX Family (later ABC Family, now Freeform) during summer to fall 2000 since NBC wouldn’t air a few episodes. It was sadly cancelled just a few episodes in :( Luckily, this launched a lot of the cast and crew’s careers and it just shows how they made such a beautiful thing in 18 episodes…

The show is kinda like The Wonder Years, but with a kick. It follows two siblings, both different ages, both in different friend groups, going through high school. It’s set in the 1980-1 school year, but I think it fits 1979-80 better. I’d tell you about the characters, but there are just so many that this blog post would be WAYYY too long. So, I’m gonna link a PDF to Paul Feig’s Freaks and Geeks Bible! He covers basically everything about the show! Note: Is a show Bible, these are written before the pilot, so is just a basic idea of characters and information about the show, so quite a bit has changed, it still gives you a basic idea tho.

Finally: how to watch it! It’s on Hulu, Paramount+, Prime, wherever you digitally buy movies and TV, and FREE on PlutoTv (there are some ads tho… I watched it here free to see if I liked it first then bought the DVD since I love it…). There’s also a Blu-ray and DVD. Three DVD is the show in standard def in the OG square-ish aspect ratio. The Blu-ray is in high def from 4K scans in both the original square-ish aspect ratio and the expanded widescreen format. Come to think of it why don’t they just release it in 4K?

I own the DVD and it’s awesome! Even though it isn’t in open widescreen and HD, I love it. It has so many commentaries, deleted scenes, commentaries on the deleted scenes, a booklet, and ALL THE OG MUSIC!!!

Okay, i hope you enjoy! If you’re going into high school, I especially recommend it since it’s probably the most realistic teen show, just don’t do drugs or be a bully tho… or have premarital sex… The show is great for those 14+… I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone younger…

Okay I suck at endings so I’m gonna and it with a reference from the show… I wish I’d like, never seen the show just so I can watch it for the first time again… If you’ve seen the show, you’d get it… PLEASE give it a chance and let me know what you think!!!
